PLEASE HELP: COOKOUTS

This year, we need YOUR help!  It's a chance to help out your club and have a great time while doing it. We're looking for people to volunteer to:

  • Make sure we have enough plates, napkins, utensils and cups before a cookout (items to be purchased with cookout donation funds)
  • Set up tables, chairs and the grill
  • Cook the food
  • And clean up at the end of the cookout.

These events have been wonderful for our club and now we need your help to make them happen. Please send an email to carly@ccgci.org if you can help out at one or more of the cookouts this year.

This year our cookouts will be the 4th Saturday of the month: April through October. For those planning to attend, please remember to register on the calendar to help us plan ahead!

AIR GUN TARGET RANGE

We are also clearing out another section of land for a field target (air gun) range. What is air gun, you may ask.

American Airgun Field Target Association

The CCGCI FT range is located at 3668 Fleming Graham Road, Burlington, NC.  While adjacent to the existing CCGCI firearms ranges, this property utilizes a separate entrance and has been set aside for development as an air rifle FT facility.  Many years ago this area was part of a working tobacco farm.   Since then, the property has sat idle waiting to become an ideal place for us to shoot and socialize.

Divisions: Open, Hunter, WFTF and the Club Unlimited Class as defined by Tar Heel Air Gun Club, (www.thagc.com). Sorry, no pistol match.

Rules: The 2017 American Airgun Field Target Association (AAFTA) rules will be followed for Open, Hunter and WFTF. The 2017 AAFTA rules can be found at www.aafta.org.

Entry fee: $10 for CCGCI members; $15 for Non-members; Juniors (<21) shoot free

Sight in range opens at 9:00, match begins at 10:00

Minimum of 60 shots, 2 targets per lane, 2 shots per target, Troyer TBD, timers will be used.

New shooters are welcomed to come and participate (experienced shooters will help) or just watch.

No firearms are allowed on the FT range.

A portable toilet is available at the FT range.

Bottled water will be provided.

The FT range is a work-in-progress so make sure to wear comfortable, closed toed walking shoes since the ground is rough in spots and some lanes are separated by 50+ yards.
