RANGE RULE REVIEW

There have recently been a number of club rule violations regarding targets and placement. So please read below to refresh your awareness.

25. All targets must be placed directly in front of existing berms and shall NOT be placed above eye level of the shooter.

27. Appropriate targets shall be used so that all bullets strike the berms.

28. No glass or other targets that leave debris are allowed except biodegradable clay targets.

We have found large quartz rocks set atop the target frames and golf balls left on the ground. This cannot continue. The rules are in place to assure all rounds stay on the range. We have neighbors, and we must abide by the rules.

CLUB ELECTIONS

It is time once again for the club elections! All members are welcome to run for office. No membership time requirements. Nomination for the next executive committee will kickoff at the September 17 Membership Meeting and remain open until the start of the election at the Annual Club Meeting, October 15th.

Descriptions of the executive committee positions are in the Club's Bylaws, Article VII except for the 2nd Vice-President. This position acts as a delegated project manager, but all positions really work as one. The person best suited for the project/endeavor is more than welcome to take the lead.

If you are interested in running, please visit the Election Forum on the club website and introduce yourself. If you wish to post a resume, please email to carly@ccgci.org to have it added to your forum post.

RIFLEMAN'S FALL CLASSIC

What is the Rifleman's Fall Classic?

It's a fun two day friendly competition with vintage military rifles (bolt action or semi-automatic). Rifles must be in “as issue” configuration and caliber. You can attend one or both days. Limit of 60 shooters per day. Matches are open to the public too. Did we mention there are t-shirts, patches, decals and food for participants?!

Please direct any questions not answered in the following documents to David Devine at hpvmmatches@ccgci.org

HIGH POWER MATCHES

CCGCI also has several high power matched scheduled this year. Visit the page for more details.

M1 Carbine: Sept 16th
Reduced ATC: Oct 21, Dec 2
Reduced 3 x 600: Oct 22, Dec 3
100 yd reduced: Sept 23

NEW GATE INFO

We're almost there! Installed and inspected - just need power. Gate access cards should be going out in the mail later in the week - I will send out an email communication once I've dropped them at the USPS.

A few things to know about the gate:
- It has a sensor for emergency vehicles. You will not need to go up the gate in the case of an emergency.
- There is a battery backup should we lose power.
We have a few other backup ideas in work.

LONG RANGE PHOTOS

We're very near the 400 yard line. The range is currently cut 20 yards wide. It will be 200 feet with 20 firing positions when complete. We're planning out grass seeding and an access path to the targets.
